Tracy King begins her 24th successful year as a real estate professional specializing in buying and selling homes in Northeast Los Angeles with a depth of experience that makes her the only choice for both the first time home buyer and the seasoned real estate investor. Prior to finding her success in real estate, Tracy worked as a social worker as well as in sales and marketing.
Though she didn't plan it that way, her background in social work, marketing and sales proved a large part of her success as a real estate agent. "There's no way I could have known how important my background in psychology and social work would serve me later in what would become my ultimate career," says King. "First and foremost, real estate is all about people, communication, listening and understanding the most subtle things about human behavior when it comes to meeting clients and negotiating with other realtors."
Now, in an age of increased distressed sales, more than ever, Tracy's social work skills have benefitted countless clients seeking to both buy and sell their homes. "I approach the practice of real estate as a means of helping people, period," says King. "Though the relationship between me and the client ends in buying or selling, I instead focus on the process and not on the end result and that has become my model for success. Buying and selling homes is often an emotional roller coaster with ups and downs and through the process, we're there every step of the way, being there for our clients in every way which we can be."
In the age of the Internet, Tracy King has been eager to embrace the new technology to better serve her clients. Her background as a salesperson and technician for computer equipment helped her to make the transition from traditional advertising to online marketing when it became apparent that the Internet was changing the way homes are bought and sold.
"I quickly understood that the emerging technology was going to make everything easier for my team and my clients," Tracy says. "Embracing social media, web site design, understanding search engines and being able to utilize paperless transactions and email makes for a quicker sale while saving resources and time."
How does Tracy King feel about her work as she approaches her Silver anniversary in real estate? "I continue to enjoy this work more and more," says Tracy. "I enjoy people, I enjoy the challenges and I enjoy being involved with cool architecture, styles and spaces. Northeast Los Angeles is an area with a lot of character and charm and the homes and neighborhoods are works of art in and of themselves. I feel fortunate, indeed, to be able to use my skills and talents to help my clients buy and sell their homes, enter into wise investments and having a hand in making people's real estate dreams come true."
